Sermubeniel, the company that supplies water and cleaning parks and gardens in the municipality of Beniel, celebrates World Environment Day with a symbolic activity to raise awareness of the need to protect resources and ecosystems.
More than one hundred sixth grade children from the Rio Segura, Antonio Monzón and Azalea schools have moved from the educational centers to the Plaza Priest Adrián Prisuelos to participate in the importance of the care of the parks and gardens for the sustainability of the planet.
The students have been given an explanatory talk about the tree species that can be found in the municipality, as well as the benefits that these contribute to the quality of life of people, such as their role as carbon sinks.
After the talk, each one of the children has received a label with the emblem 'This is your garden, this is your tree' where they have written their name and they have hung it in the branches of the trees.
The activity has ended with a crash in which the children have collaborated to clean the park floor.
The event was attended by Mari Carmen Morales, mayor of Beniel, who has addressed the children to explain "the impact of small actions such as recycling, water saving or care recreational areas of the municipality, may have on the future of the planet."
He also reminded them that it will be the children who in the future will have to face the great environmental challenges and that therefore, on June 5 must be cause for celebration but also awareness.
