The City Council of Beniel, through the departments of Culture and Citizen Participation, had planned the launching during 2020 of different initiatives and projects framed in the "Párraga Year".
The Murcian painter José María Párraga is linked to the municipality by creating a large mural in the old "Antonio Monzón" school during the 1970s. To commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of this work, this year cultural and participatory activities were going to take place, which had to be postponed due to the health emergency of COVID-19.
After this pause, the creation of a route of urban murals with the name "Pensando a Párraga" is resumed, a collaborative project where local artists will recreate the works of the Murcian painter at different points. With this project, the municipal heritage, the plastic arts and culture are made visible in urban areas of Beniel open to citizens.
The activity will continue throughout the coming months with the creation of new murals in different parts of the town.
