The Beniel City Council celebrates for the fourth consecutive year the International Pride Day, which is commemorated on Sunday, June 28.
This is a protest date in favor of equality and non-discrimination.
Mari Carmen Morales, mayor of the municipality, hung the rainbow flag this morning. The first mayor has stressed that the Beniel City Council will continue to show its firm commitment to defending the claims of the LGTBI collective.
Morales stressed that "society must continue to advance in the social recognition of diversity and in consolidating the rights already won."This act is part of the campaign of the State Federation of Lesbians, Gays, Transsexuals and Bisexuals, a state NGO that groups more than 55 LGTBI entities throughout the national territory.
Given the impossibility of holding large multidudinary events and applying criteria of responsibility and caution, they have developed the "My Balcony My Pride" campaign.
The City Council has joined it and invites citizens to participate by hanging the rainbow flag on their balcony.
