On the fiftieth anniversary of this date and after the conservation and subsequent restoration work carried out in 2009, this valuable and unique artistic creation continues in force and is a reference piece.
The “Párraga Year†brings together different activities and actions to highlight the importance of the cultural and historical heritage of the municipality.
Among them has been launched the "I National Fast Painting Competition Beniel" which has the theme of the town and will distribute 2,100 euros in prizes in the adult category, plus 150 euros in the youth category.
Subsequently, an exhibition will be held in the Pepe Rubio Room that will collect all the works.

This great cultural event will be preceded on March by the opening of the Day Center to the public, the current location of the mural created by this Murcian painter.
During this evening, all the neighbors will be able to enjoy this unique work in the first person, which is a reference cultural symbol over fifty years.
The event will be enlivened by live music and attendees will be offered a free agape.
The Corporation also collaborates in the development of the III Outdoor Painting Contest- Tribute to Párraga, organized by the Friends of José María Párraga association and which has the support of the City of Beniel and the City of Murcia.
These initiatives will be complemented with citizen participation activities, aimed at making this mural visible also outside the center with recreations in municipal buildings and on public roads.
