The Autonomous Community supports the construction of the dam of the Rambla de Tabala as a solution to the floods frequently suffered by the Murcia districts of Alquerías, El Raal, Zeneta and the municipality of Beniel.
The Regional Executive shows its support for the request of the neighborhood platform requesting that the Segura Hydrographic Confederation (CHS) resume this work.
The Minister of Development and Infrastructure, José Ramón Díez de Revenga, held a meeting today with representatives of the aforementioned neighborhood platform and local authorities, in which he informed that the document being prepared by the Panel of experts to prevent floods in the Region of Murcia includes the construction of this dam as an "essential" solution to avoid the risks of floods in this area.
"We ask the Ministry to execute the Tabala dam to ensure the safety and tranquility of the residents of Alquerías, El Raal, Zeneta and Beniel in the episodes of intense rains that are increasingly frequent," said the counselor who recalled that this work It is included in the CHS Flood Risk Plan.
Díez de Revenga called on the State to resume the construction project for the dam of the Rambla de Tabala, which was written in 1996, in which the procedures for expropriation of the land necessary to carry out the work were even initiated.
The counselor and the platform agreed to request, jointly, a meeting with the General Director of Water of the Ministry of Ecological Transition to know the plans of the state agency regarding this work.
