The Minister of Water, Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Environment, Antonio Luengo, highlighted today “the good moment that the chicken sector is going through,” whose meat production in the Region grew by 30 percent compared to 2016 , reaching more than 27 million copies.
The sector is facing, explained the counselor "to changes in the consumption habits of the population, but fortunately the Region of Murcia has been reaching production records for two years and we hope to close the year, the third consecutive year, exceeding these figures."
There are currently 216 chicken farms in the Community.
Antonio Luengo visited the facilities of the company Hijos de Juan Pujante in the municipality of Beniel, where he thanked “the effort that the company is making to adapt its production model to the new times, incorporating innovation and the use of renewable energy, betting for the stable employment and the quality of its products ”.
