The infrastructure between the Callosa and Beniel stations, on the Alicante - Murcia line, will again be available to railway companies since this afternoon once Adif maintenance teams have repaired the damage caused to the infrastructure by the storm of mid September.
In this way, the towns of Orihuela and Beniel are once again connected by rail with Alicante.
However, the journey from Murcia continues interrupted while work continues in the surroundings of El Reguerón, where the greatest infrastructure damage has been concentrated.
Precisely for this reason the circulation between the Murcian capital and Cartagena is also suspended since it is in that area where the line forks both towards Alicante and Cartagena.
This restoration joins those of the routes of Iberian width Murcia - Albacete, Murcia - Lorca, Alicante - Callosa, Alicante - Albacete and the metric width Cartagena - La Unión, which Adif has gradually put back into service once Damage repair work completed.
On the other hand, the relations Lorca - Águilas, Valencia - Albacete and Murcia with Cartagena in Iberian width, and the Los Nietos - La Unión route of metric width still remain without service.
In all these routes, Adif maintenance teams continue to work to restore rail traffic in the shortest possible time.
