The item intended for debt payment drops by almost € 100,000 after responsible management by the Consistory

Beniel City Council has approved its accounts for the year 2019 once the new Corporation has been established.

The document presented by the Mayor's Office has received the favorable vote of the ten Socialist councilors, thus being approved by an absolute majority.

Mari Carmen Morales, mayor of the municipality, has argued that thanks to the budget, services can be improved and essential investments made throughout the municipality.

The adaptation of sidewalks in the garden is one of the items included in the investment chapter, along with the remodeling of the Paseo de la Urbanización Sur and actions such as the renovation of the water and sanitation network in the urban area and districts.

This chapter also includes the contribution made by the City Council for the adaptation of the new turf on the football field and the installation of an outdoor luminaire to improve the quality of this service and its efficiency.

Since the beginning of the 2015-2019 legislature the level of municipal debt has been declining after responsible account management.

In this budget, the funds destined to the payment of repayments and interest are reduced by € 96,000 compared to previous years.

Morales stressed that "while maintaining prudence, these data reflect that the economic situation of the municipality has clearly improved."

The remaining treasury amounts to € 1,581,000

In fact Morales has continued to emphasize that "the remaining cash has amounted to more than one and a half million euros, which means stability and security against any unforeseen event."

The mayor has also pointed out that the average period of payment to suppliers of the City Council is the low of the Region, which implies a zero delinquency level without invoices without paying outside the established legal period.

In this document, new items have been set up, such as aid for schooling for school supplies, whose bases are already underway by the Department of Social Services.

Morales has also stressed the increase in funds as General Maintenance, to continue "supporting schools that request improvements and maintenance of their facilities."
