The neighbors of Beniel have given historical support to the current mayor of the consistory, Mari Carmen Morales, whose candidacy has obtained more than 50% of the votes cast in an election call in which five political parties have participated.
The current first mayor will continue in office with the support of his 10 councilors for the next four years.
Mari Carmen Morales has obtained a comfortable absolute majority that will allow her to develop the project started in 2015. After a positive electoral campaign, focused on Beniel and her neighbors, all the objectives set by the candidate have been achieved.
The opposition will be led by the Popular Party, whose result has worsened compared to the previous local elections, going from 6 councilors to 5. On the other hand it highlights the irruption of Vox in the City of Beniel with a representative, as well as the collapse of Citizens who falls from 3 councilors to only 1.
In the municipality of Beniel the Socialist Party has also been the most voted force for the Regional Assembly, exceeding 40% of the total votes cast and snatching this position from the PP.
