The City Council, outside the framework of its powers, has made an investment in the Health Center that exceeds 7,000 euros, to prepare a space where diagnostic tests for COVID19 can be carried out in the municipality.
For this, a large tent has been installed in the courtyard of the center and a direct access door to it has been set up. Last week the mayor of Beniel, Mª Carmen Morales, requested in letters sent to Public Health and the Murcian Health Service "the installation of a Covid point in the town." This would improve the detection of positives, a fundamental task to contain the spread of the pandemic.
It would also make it easier for the residents of the town to carry out the tests more comfortably, quickly and without having to travel, as well as more rigorous compliance with quarantines and isolation. For this, the Consistory has already provided, outside the framework of its powers, the space necessary for this purpose.
In fact, at the moment the Regional Government Health Department is already carrying out antigen tests in the installed tent.
The COVID point will further expand the diagnostic capacity.
