Mari Carmen Morales, mayor of the municipality, has attended a meeting called by the Segura Hydrographic Confederation.
In this meeting, local and regional authorities have been informed about various actions that this institution will carry out.
Mario Urrea, President of the CHS, has indicated that the agency is working on different projects, which were already contemplated in the Avenues Defense Plan of the 90s, but were not implemented.
Among them, the construction of the Tabala Dam stands out, an infrastructure that the Mayor has claimed since 2016.
The Tabala Dam construction project is currently undergoing a cost-effectiveness study.
Morales has stressed that "whatever the conclusion of that analysis I will continue to claim that the development of our municipality goes through the construction of this infrastructure."
In the same informative meeting, Mario Urrea confirmed that various emergency actions will be carried out after the effects of DANA.
In total the works amount to a sum of 25 million euros in the Region of Murcia.
In this sense Morales has reported that within this line of investments "in Beniel the wall of the Segura River channel will be reinforced, which was already technically valued on September 14".
